Margie Day

February 8, 1948 March 11, 2026

Danville, IN

Margie J. Day, 78, of Danville, Indiana, passed peacefully with her family by her side on March 11, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John and Doris (Hadley) Day.

Margie grew up in Indianapolis and remained a hard worker deeply dedicated to her family throughout her life. In her younger years she loved dancing, and in later years she found joy in playing games on her tablet or with family, watching Harry Potter movies, Criminal Minds, Alaskan shows, and weekly mysteries alongside her brother Mike. She had a lifelong passion for travel and could happily shop for hours. Margie held a special fondness for butterflies, was baptized and loved Jesus, and took pleasure in getting dressed up with her hair always fixed. She enjoyed taking her family out for fancy dinners and cooking for them, especially her beloved macaroni and cheese and homemade potato soup. She cherished quiet moments relaxing with a cup of hazelnut creamer lightly splashed with coffee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Day; her daughter Laura Thomas; her son Paul Gibson II; and her great-grandson Avery Hollingsworth. Margie is survived by her loving daughter Tami Faulk, her brother Mike Day, and her grandchildren Rebekah, Candace, Gary, Stephen, Tabitha, Susanna, Kimberly, Jennifer, Ashlee, Amber, and Alexis. She also leaves behind 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her beloved grand-dog, Dusty. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her deep love for family, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments.
