Margene (Hart) Jones

Margene (Hart) Jones, 88, passed away on March 10, 2026 at Columbia Cottage in Wyomissing, where she had made her home. She was the beloved wife of William “Bud” Jones, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in October 2019.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Margene was the daughter of the late Bernard and Eunice (Miller) Hart. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kutztown University and taught in the Wilson School District until her retirement in 1993. A longtime member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, she found joy in trips to the beach, especially her frequent visits to Ft. Pierce, Florida. She loved reading, playing cards, and gathering with her close friends, who lovingly called themselves “The Larks.” Above all, Margene cherished her family. She created countless memories with them during Christmas celebrations at 9 Plymouth Circle, river outings, and backyard picnics. Her grandchildren fondly remember lively family gatherings around the dining room table, where Margene sat in her “laughing” chair.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Jones (Richelle), Gregory Jones (Patricia), and Laurie Wahlman (Robert); eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
