Margarete Weiss Sullivan

Margarete Weiss Sullivan, 84, of Wattsburg, passed away on March 12, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born on May 26, 1941, in Aussig, Sudetenland, Germany, she was the daughter of the late George and Erna Marie Buchwald Weiss.

Margarete worked as a waitress in New York State, at Helfam Molding Plastic Company, and for more than 25 years at G.E. She found joy in attending Oktoberfest, participating in bible study, and spending time with her dear friends Ginger and Diane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Sullivan; her daughter, Dalida Dine; her brother, Simon Weiss; her sister, Bridgid Weiss; and her special friend, Bruce Barnes.

She is survived by her grandson, Chester Dine (Anna Hagley) of Erie; her granddaughter, Katie Owens of Houston, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Carter and Franki Simone Dine and Alexis, Kylie, and Noah Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
