Margaret "Mocki" Rogers

1936 — 2026

Louisville, KY

Margaret "Mocki" Rogers, 89, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on August 13, 1936, in New Haven, Kentucky, she was the fourth of twelve children of the late Edith Ray Rogers and Joseph Rogers. A lifelong member of St. James/St. Brigid Catholic Church, Mocki graduated from St. Catherine High School in New Haven before attending St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Louisville.

She began her career as a stewardess with Eastern Airlines before returning to healthcare, where she worked as an office manager. In retirement, she found joy volunteering as an ambassador at the Louisville airport. Mocki cherished her garden, books, the occasional cold beer, and travel—she once circled the globe—but nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her family.

She is survived by her brothers Steve Rogers (Kim), Ben Rogers (Patsy), and Bernie Rogers; her sister Mary “Sis” Rogers Hall; sisters-in-law Lenora Boone Rogers and Pam Sexton Rogers; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mocki was preceded in death by her beloved partner and soulmate, Harlan Silliman, as well as several siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by her Hosparus caregivers, Regina and Mary Alice.
