Margaret Newton Rose, 89, of Vandemere, NC, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the Gardens of Pamlico in Grantsboro.

Margaret was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Original Free Will Baptist Church, where she faithfully served her church family in many capacities over the years. She was a member of the pastoral board, served on the decorating committee, and was the president of the Women’s Auxiliary. Margaret was also known for her willingness to help wherever she was needed, especially in the church kitchen, and she served on the church preschool board as well. Her dedication to her church reflected her deep faith and her love for serving others.

Margaret was also committed to her community. She served as a commissioner for the Town of Vandemere and held a seat on the board of East Coast Fisheries. She was a graduate of Pamlico County High School and later attended Pamlico Community College.

Above all else, Margaret treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found great joy in the time spent with those she loved.
