Margaret Brandon ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Gowen-Smith Chapel on Mar. 16, 2026.Mrs. Margaret Louise Brandon, age 84, of Fairfield, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 26, 1942, in Bedford County, TN to the late Eugenie and Jimmie Chilton Lovell. In addition to her parents, Margaret is also preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Brandon; and siblings, Rachel Thropp, Birdie Fields, Jack Lovell, Eugenia McCullough, Ann Wright, Jane Brothers, and Jerry Lovell.The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18th, and Thursday, March 19th from 12 – 1 p.m. at Gowen-Smith Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday in the chapel with Brother Byron Ash and Brother Ron Chilton Officiating. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3420 Fairfield Pike, Bell Buckle, TN 37020.Margaret Brandon, a beloved member of her community and family, left behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to those she loved.Margaret was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fairfield, Tennessee. Over the years, she faithfully served her church in many ways-handling secretarial duties, helping care for the church cemetery, assisting with building upkeep, and lending a hand wherever it was needed. As many fondly said, she did just about everything at the church except preach.Margaret had a deep love for the simple joys of life. She enjoyed tending to flowers, watching birds, and relaxing with an episode of Gunsmoke. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, always eager to be part of their lives and activities.A hardworking woman throughout her life, Margaret worked as a clerk for State Farm Insurance. She was also deeply connected to farming, raising chickens and caring for horses. Her dedication and success in poultry farming earned her recognition as Grower of the Year from Tyson Foods.Margaret will be remembered for her faithful service, her strong work ethic, and the love she gave so freely to her family, church, and community. Her life was a quiet testimony of kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith.She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Margaret is survived by her son, David and wife Jeanna Brandon; daughter, Lisa Brandon; brother, Grady and wife Linda Lovell; sister-in-law, Betty Reed; grandchildren, Andrew Brandon, Brandon and wife Ashley Perry, Annalise Perry (Coy Cates), Nick Perry, and Garrison Brandon; great-grandchildren, Julianna Brandon and Levi Perry; and a host of nieces and nephews.Gowen-Smith Chapel is honored to be serving the family of Margaret L.
