Old Bridge, NJ

Margaret “Marge” Gallagher, 78, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, passed away on March 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of Thomas “Danny” Targiano and Nancy Targiano. Nearly fifty years ago, Marge and her family settled in Old Bridge, where she created a life rooted in family, faith, and friendship.

Marge is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Donald, her daughter Lisa DiBella and son-in-law Joe DiBella, her daughter-in-law Julie Morales, and her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Dana, and Gavin. She is also survived by her sister Rosemarie. She was predeceased by her brother Johnny, her sister Dolores, and her sons Keith and Kevin.

Marge and Donald met when they were just fifteen and built a lifetime together. After Donald returned from the Vietnam War, he courted her again and they married, raising their children Lisa, Keith, and Kevin in a home filled with warmth and laughter. The family endured profound losses with the deaths of Keith at nineteen in 1992 and Kevin years later. Through these sorrows, Marge’s faith deepened, and she found comfort in her belief in guardian angels, even maintaining a special room in their home dedicated to Keith’s memory.

She was known for her legendary Christmas Eve feasts that brought family and friends together, her beautiful garden where she lovingly tended flowers, and her hidden talent as a prolific painter. Thoughtful and attentive, Marge never forgot a birthday and delighted in creating handmade cards signed “a Gram or a Marge creation just for you.” Her greatest joy was her time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished during special days filled with sleepovers, ice cream walks to Carvel, and holiday celebrations. She shared a profound best-friend bond with her daughter Lisa, who cared for her with unwavering devotion through her final illness. Marge’s love, strength, and gentle spirit remain deeply woven into the lives of all who knew her.
