Preserve forever →Margaret "Jeanie" Brewster
July 17, 1937— March 7, 2026
Adrian, MO
Margaret Jean Brewster, lovingly known as Jeanie, passed away on March 7, 2026, at her home in Adrian, Missouri, at the age of 88. Born on July 17, 1937, in Miami County, Kansas, to Charles Joseph Hartman and Mary Ethel Carter, she grew up with her siblings JE Hartman, Jane Ellen Lane, Mary Jo Poindexter, and Anna Marie Fink. Her early years instilled in her a generous spirit and deep-rooted values that defined her life.
In 1952, Jeanie married Earl James Brewster, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned seventy-three years. Together they worked side by side through years of dairy farming, ranching, and crop farming while raising nine children: Mike Brewster, Jim Brewster (Katie), Debbie Arnold (John), Mary Kendrick (Monty), Diane Ferguson (Jim), Becky Martens (Carl), Tom Brewster (Terri), Sara Vick (Jeff), and Sam Brewster (Candi). Jeanie’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into motherhood and later extended that same unconditional love to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom felt deeply cherished by her.
Jeanie found quiet pleasure in reading and in making hundreds of flannel baby blankets for expectant mothers and the NICU where her granddaughter worked. Her Christian faith remained the steady foundation of her life after she was saved on February 24, 1973. She lived her beliefs through gentle example, drawing comfort and strength from Scripture, particularly Psalms 23 and 2 Timothy 1:7.
She is survived by her husband, Earl James Brewster; her children; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren, with three more on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her son Mike Brewster, her child Baby Brewster, and great-grandchildren Judah Arnold and Spencer Ferguson. Her kindness, quiet strength, and loving presence will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
