Margaret Anne Savino, 79, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Windsor, Vermont. Born on November 16, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Joseph Stanley and Mary Elizabeth (Casner) Zembrowski, she was the youngest of six siblings and was deeply cherished by her older brothers and sisters.
After graduating from Wilbur Cross High School, Margaret married Joseph E. Savino, with whom she had two sons. She was a devoted and affectionate mother who greeted life with a ready smile. Even after parting ways with Joseph, she maintained a positive outlook. Margaret loved the beach and cherished every opportunity to soak up the sun. She frequently visited her son’s home in Vermont, where she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. Around 2020, she moved permanently to Pittsfield.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph A. Savino of the Philippines and David M. Savino of Pittsfield, Vermont; her siblings, Anthony Zembrowski of New Haven, Connecticut, Helen Hitzfeld of Texas, and Mary Cylke of Virginia; her grandchildren, Barrett and Josephine Savino, and their mother, Amanda Barrett; as well as other relatives and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her parents and two siblings, Joseph Zembroski and Jean McDermott.
