Huntsville, TX
Margaret Ann (Lucas) Swor, 93, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on January 13, 1933, in Navarro County, Texas, to Lillian and William Lucas, Margaret lived a life marked by quiet strength, warmth, and deep devotion to family.
She first married Luther Whalin on September 1, 1951. Their 23-year marriage produced two children, Anthony (Tony) Whalin and Lucretia (Lu) Whalin Human. After Luther’s death in 1974, Margaret later married Kenneth Swor on December 11, 1981. The couple made their home in Huntsville, Texas, and shared 36 years together until Kenneth’s passing in 2017.
Margaret spent many years in food service, retiring as a manager with Huntsville ISD. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built while serving her community. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing dominoes and canasta, games that frequently gathered family and friends for laughter and friendly competition. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Maw Maw.”
