Margaret Houchin ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sanders Funeral Home - Lubbock on Mar. 17, 2026.Margaret Ann Houchin, born December 13, 1946, went into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by her loving family.Margaret attended Slaton High School before going on to cosmetology school, where she became a licensed stylist. She worked as a hairstylist for 13 years in Tahoka, Texas, where she lived for 20 years and raised her daughters. While living in Tahoka, Margaret discovered another passion when she purchased a floral shop. There she developed a love for floral design and décor while working alongside family.Later, Margaret moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Billy Mac Houchin. The two were married on May 12, 1990, in San Antonio, Texas. Margaret loved spending time outdoors, especially playing golf and hunting, but nothing meant more to her than time spent with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Mac Houchin; her parents, Homer Clyde McKinnon and Norma Jean Francisco; and her sister, Norma Jo McKinnon.Margaret is survived by her daughters, Pam Ashcraft (Keith) and Cassie Martin (Jeff); her nieces, Alicia Handley and Erica Handley; and her nephew, Rick McKinnon (Mary).She is also survived by her grandchildren, Blake Ashcraft (Katelynn), Meghan DeBerry (Tracy), Matt Saldana (Jami), Kyler Pebsworth (Terri), Stormee Carr (Colton), and Kutter Martin.Her great-grandchildren include Brooks, Adalynn, Dawsyn, Dailee, Dylann, Macyn, Stone, Lainey, Graysen, Saylor, Laiklynn, Stratton, and her namesake, Maeve Margaret.Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:00am at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.Margaret will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and the joy she brought to those who knew and loved her.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
