July 1, 1949— March 5, 2026
Charlestown, RI
Peggy Lynch, 76, of Charlestown, Rhode Island, passed away on March 5, 2026 at her home. The daughter of the late John J. and Catherine (Dempsey) Lynch, she was a lifelong Rhode Island resident. From her childhood in Providence and summers spent with family and friends at Matunuck Point to building her own home and family in Southern Rhode Island, the state remained the heart of her life.
A dedicated teacher for more than forty years, Peggy introduced generations of students to the wider world and gave them a strong foundation for their futures. She always placed her students first, viewing them with the affection she reserved for her own children. She also cherished her role as a sister, sharing a lifetime of memories with her brother that began in childhood and continued through late-night card games. As a mother and grandmother, she raised two children and delighted in her four lively grandchildren, who cherished their time with Nana.
She is survived and deeply missed by her daughter, Mauria Folger, and Mauria’s husband Clinton, along with their children Rourke and Breenagh of Warren, Rhode Island; her son, John Kenyon, and his wife Courtney, together with their children Eliza and Jack of Cranston, Rhode Island; and her devoted brother, John J. Lynch of Delhi, New York.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
