A native of Tallahassee, Maree was a proud graduate of Leon High School and FSU. After graduation, she partnered in ministry with her husband of 62 years, faithfully serving the Lord and many churches across the southeast. Utilizing her gift of song since childhood, Maree sang in many groups including The Melodears, the Tallahassee Community Chorus, and many church choirs. Maree was a faithful, founding and current member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church.Maree is survived by her daughter Celeste Aufdemorte (David), son Jeff Peacock (Lee), grandchildren Mistie (Markus), Marlaina (Shane), James, Blake (Rachael), 8 great-grandchildren, sister Gail Harrison McCall, 7 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Sonny" Peacock, parents Sterling and Alice "Doll" Peacock, siblings Frances and Sterling Jr. "Buddy".A celebration of Maree's life will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 17, 2026, at Lafayette Presbyterian Church. A private family inurnment will take place at Tallahassee National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lafayette Presbyterian Church.
