Marcus Aurelius Lemon

Marcus Aurelius Lemon was born on October 16, 1969, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Jacqueline Hart Lemon and the late Presiding Elder F. Bernard Lemon. Raised in Leesburg, Florida, he was a graduate of the Leesburg High School Class of 1987 and went on to further his education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee.

Marcus was reared in the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church and was a member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Tallahassee, Florida.

Professionally, Marcus worked in sales and management and is best remembered as a store manager for Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company and First American Cash Advance.

He found joy in music, fishing, swimming, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Braves.

Marcus passed peacefully on March 3, 2026, after a lengthy illness and battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Ramona Lemon; son, Deonte Adams; daughter, Londyn Lemon; mother, Jacqueline Lemon; mother-in-law, Ruby Lee Paul; bonus mother, Laurastine Lemon-King (Rev. Richard King); father-in-law, Jerome James; siblings, Tonja Lemon Webb (Kevin), Anita Lemon, Ryan Lemon, Michele Murphy, and Bridget Giles (Terry); godchildren, Ka'Mari DeLeslin, Shakirah McDuffie, and Patrick "P.J." Gilyard, Jr.; bonus family, Robert Dunston and the Dunston Family; a host of other relatives and friends; and his walking companion, Princess, the family pet.

Marcus was preceded in death by his father, Presiding Elder F. Bernard Lemon; brother, Michael Lemon; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Though he has found eternal rest, may the memory of his love and laughter be a comfort to us all.
