Marcia Bailey, 85 of Greenwood, passed on March 1, 2026. She was born on February 26, 1941, in Rushville, Indiana. The only child of Donald and Kathleen (Hobbs) Renegar, she was valedictorian of the 1959 graduating class of Rushville Consolidated High School. She earned her BA, with honors, from Indiana University in Bloomington. While there, she was a member of the Arbutus yearbook staff, the IU Foundation, Alpha Lambda Delta scholastic honorary, president of Alpha Omicron Pi social sorority and was selected for membership in the Mortar Board during her senior year. After graduation, she taught at both North Central High School in Indianapolis and at Sweetwater Union High School in San Ysidro, California. Additionally, over the years, she served on the adjunct faculties of both IUPUI and Ivy Tech.After returning to Indiana, she served as the public information officer of the Indiana Arts Commission and later, as the program director of the Metropolitan Arts Council of Indianapolis.Marcia returned to college in the 1980's, and in 1991 she received her BS degree from IUPUI, with highest honors, in Health Information Management. Over the next 15 years, she served as Health Information Manager at Kendrick Hospital in Mooresville, and at Methodist and St. Francis Hospitals in Indianapolis. She retired as the Health Information Director of St. Francis. After retirement, she was asked to act as interim Health Information Director of the Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She is survived by her son, B. Paul Bailey (Debbie) of Los Angeles, CA; her daughter, Amanda Jones (Steve) of Monument, CO and two grandsons, Austin and Cameron Jones.Marcia was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 S. Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227, where memorial contributions may be directed. A memorial gathering and service will take place later at the church. Care and cremation arrangements were entrusted to Singleton and St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services.
