Marcelina R. Donez

Marcelina R. Donez, 88, of Harlingen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2026. She was born on June 2, 1937, in Harlingen to Arcadio Ramirez and Maria Lozano.

A vibrant and hardworking woman who loved life, Marcelina cherished every moment spent with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Rio Bravo to visit loved ones, and found joy in dancing, attending gatherings, hosting celebrations, and playing bingo. She also loved browsing garage and yard sales and spending time outdoors, always keeping herself active and engaged.

An entrepreneur at heart, Marcelina was well known in her neighborhood for making and selling delicious homemade flour tortillas and tacos. Her kindness, warmth, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Maggie Ayala (Jesse) and Odelia Esparza (Leonel De Leon), both of Harlingen; her sister, Santos Balli of San Juan, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Donez; four children, Antonio Donez, Jr., Rodolfo Donez, Gilbert Donez, and Lucia D. Cantu; her parents; and several siblings.
