Manuel Murillo Jr.
December 21, 1959— March 7, 2026
Houston, TX
Manuel Murillo Jr. passed away on March 7, 2026, from health complications. Born in Houston at St. Joseph’s Hospital on December 21, 1959, he was the beloved brother of Carol Ann Taylor, Esther Murillo Escamilla, Rodolph Murillo, and David Murillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel G. Murillo Sr. and Alice D. Falcon Murillo, and his sister-in-law Eva Murillo.
As a boy, Manuel served as an altar boy at Immaculate Conception Church alongside his younger brother Rudy. He graduated from Austin High School in 1979, where his warm personality and joyous energy made him well liked by everyone. Throughout his working years he built lasting friendships with people from all walks of life, and later, when he could no longer work, he volunteered countless hours at Omega House Hospice in Houston, a place that remained close to his heart.
Manuel’s greatest passions were tennis, which he played both for enjoyment and in competition, and photography. With his camera he traveled the world, capturing beautiful places and special moments, and he was often the one asked to photograph weddings and family events. Above all, he cherished time spent with his large circle of family and friends, and his love for the children in the family was immeasurable.
He is remembered with great affection by his nieces and nephews Mary Lynn, Gina, Shelly, Christopher, Alice Belen, Edward, and Darla, and by his grandnieces and grandnephews Jovani, Ava, Kaylee, Sullivan, and Scarlett. Those who knew him will never forget his kind spirit and the blessing he was to all.
