June 10, 1954— March 3, 2026
San Antonio, TX
Manuel G. Villarreal, 71, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born on June 10, 1954, to Felimon and Augustina Villarreal, he was the youngest of thirteen children. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, Manuel lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, and quiet generosity.
Raised in San Antonio, Manuel lost his mother as an infant and was lovingly brought up by his aunt and uncle, Aurelia and Antonio Lopez. He graduated from Fox Tech High School, where he studied wood crafting, and was active in the youth group at St. Agnes Catholic Church. It was there that he met his future wife, Mary Grace. The couple shared 52 years of marriage. Manuel began his career at Custom Craft, became an electrician’s apprentice, and spent 27 years as a skilled cabinet maker at UTHSCSA. He coached his children’s youth sports teams and, in retirement, cherished time with his grandchildren. He also volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul group at St. Ann Catholic Church, quietly helping those in need by distributing food and clothing.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Mary Grace; daughters Laura (Matthew) and Maricela (Francisco); son Manuel (Enedelia); sister Mary Socorro (Raul); brothers Wally (Irene) and John (Digna); cousin Santos; ten grandchildren, Francisco Jr., Sean, Matthew, Lilliana, Adrian, Isabella, Manuel Jr., Jacob, Joshua, and Jonathan; one great-grandchild, Atlas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felimon and Augustina Villarreal; sisters Olga and Anita; brothers Raymond, Genaro, Isaias, Domingo, Pedro, Felimon Jr., and Jose; and cousins Consuelo, Rosario, Jose, and Edwardo (Angela).
