Mallorie A. Jackson

Mallorie Ann Jackson (Childers), 61, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2026, and was declared deceased at 12:18 a.m. She passed in the comfort of her home, just as she would have wanted.

Born September 13, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mallorie spent parts of her childhood in San Diego, California; Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Columbus, Ohio, where she attended Eastmoor Academy High School and later made her home while raising her family.

She was the beloved daughter of Juanita Childers and Eugene Brightwell, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Rudolph Jackson at the age of 21. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Jackson, and her brother, Robert Ballard. Mallorie also shared a meaningful relationship with the late Russell Matherson, the father of her two youngest children.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Jereatha Jackson, Serrina Jackson, Jarvis Jackson, Tyresha Colvin (Jacqueline), Dequan Jackson-Matherson, and DeAsia Jackson (Abdul); her cherished grandchildren Isaiah, Niyala, and Hezekiah Johnson; Taylor and Jeremiah Wilson; Jariyah Heriot; and Mario Berry; her brother Ronnie Branham; a host of women who were like sisters to her; and a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Mallorie was known for her loving and generous spirit and for never meeting a stranger. She found joy in caring for others and had a deep love for baking, crocheting, and the little touches of beauty in everyday life, especially purses and nail polish. She also had a strong interest in family genealogy and took pride in learning about her family’s roots and sharing those stories with others. Above all, she cherished family togetherness and valued the moments when everyone could gather, laugh, and simply be present with one another.

Throughout her life, she worked in food service management, factory positions, and as an STNA, where she provided compassionate care to the elderly and vulnerable. In every role, she demonstrated a strong work ethic and a heart for serving others while providing for her family.

Mallorie’s life was defined by her love for family, her generosity toward others, and the care she extended to everyone she encountered.

Her earthly journey is complete, and we take comfort believing she was lovingly welcomed home by those who went before her.
