Malcon Levy Hiatt

Malcon Levy Hiatt, age 77, of Ararat, North Carolina, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Born in Surry County on March 20, 1948, to the late Reid Franklin and Eva Mae Gammons Hiatt, he served his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked for many years as a truck driver before retiring and was a longtime member of the Renfro Masonic Lodge #691 AF&AM.

Malcon was a devoted family man who cherished his roles as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Spivey Hiatt; his daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Joey Burkhart and Marie Hiatt; his grandchildren, Amber Burkhart, Hannah Wolfe and Joey, Emily Diaz, Ethan Diaz, and Eva Diaz; and his great-grandchildren, Joseph Wolfe and Chloe Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rayburn Franklin Hiatt.

Those who knew him will remember Malcon as a man who lived with quiet strength and deep affection for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to bind the generations he held so dear.
