As Malcolm departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Malcolm may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Malcolm leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alwyn Budd and Ruey Marie Cummings; his wife Elizabeth Rae; his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Cummings Whittemore (Howard Whittemore) and Alwyn Buhl Cummings (Lois Tyson Cummings); and his son-in-law Kenneth Ray Greemann.

He is survived by: his brother Robert Bradley Cummings (Loretta); his son David Allen Cummings; his daughter-in-law Caren Smith Cummings; and his daughter Deborah Cummings Greemann. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at the Evergreen Memorial Park (3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606).
