Mahlon Dwayne “Muff” Thomas, 66, of Maysville, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on February 17, 1960, he was the son of the late Russell Calvin and Evelyn Rebecca Davis Thomas.
A lifelong member of Lee’s Chapel Methodist Church, Mahlon served as a deacon, lay speaker, and usher. He graduated from Mason County High School in 1978, where he played basketball and baseball. He continued his athletic career at Chicago University and later at Cumberland College, playing baseball at both institutions.
He is survived by his children, Mahlon (Tori) Thomas, Gaberiel (Tiffany) Thomas, Randall Bloomfield, Sedaya Thomas, Jaden Colemire, and Logan Stidham, all of Maysville; thirteen grandchildren, Aubreyona Thomas, Makenna Thomas, Kenyon Thomas, Meilani Thomas, Khari’Mahni Thomas, Keeghan Thomas, Khyra Thomas, Korbin Thomas, Keyon Bloomfield, Aniah Bloomfield, Elias Stidham, Emma Stidham, and Lyiam Stidham; four brothers, Calvin Thomas, Galon Thomas, Clayton Thomas, and Darius (Miranda) Davis; and four sisters, Tina Thomas, Sivi Wills, Tarita Madison, and Gail Thomas. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Easten Bravard; two brothers, Russell Thomas and Marlon Thomas; and one sister, Susan Thomas.
