Magnolia Oliveira ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Magnolia Asuncao Coelho Terra Oliveira, 86, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully at home alongside her daughter and husband. She was married for 58 years to Manuel Oliveira. She was born in Bobeda, Chaves, Portugal, daughter of the late Prescinda Jesus Coelho and Agostinho Quintino Terra. She emigrated to the United States in 1966 and went back to Portugal for a vacation. It was there that she caught up with her childhood friend Manuel Oliveira, fell in love, and later married that year. Manuel later joined her in 1967.Magnolia held various jobs at Royal factory, The Hartford, and then owner of Pope Park Package store for 31 years. Her husband Manuel at her side until the very end. She was cared for by her husband and the loving and caring hands of Maria Marques and Suzy Lopes. We will always be so grateful for the care she was given, true Angles. Magnolia was the second mother and aunt who loved to be amongst her nieces and nephews feeding them, playing with them, and treating them with her cappuccino. She was happiest when she was in her second home in Florida and amongst her flowers at home in CT. A Magnolia tree was planted when she moved to her current home and would bloom every year bringing her joy. She showered her family with hugs and kisses and was the beloved tia Lola. Her legacy is the love she showed to her family.In addition to her husband, Magnolia is survived by her only daughter, Elaine Oliveira DoCarmo and her husband Ricardo of Newington, CT. She was the loving aunt to Maria Ester Cirigliano and her husband Michael of Port St Lucie, FL, Joe Batista and his wife Deanna of Bristol, CT, Helder Batista and his wife Terry of Newington, CT, Maria Lurdes Miller of Charleston, WV, David Batista and his wife Maria of Wilton, CT, Prescinda Duggan of Charleston, WV, Fred Pinto and his wife Pamela of East Lyme, CT, Ana Maria Pinho and her husband Carlos of Newington, CT, and Danny Pinto of Durham, CT. She also leaves her grandnieces and grandnephews in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Portugal, and France. Magnolia is predeceased by her nephew Victor Pires and her sisters, Albina Staphos and Lurdes Goncalves.Calling hours will be Friday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford.
