Echo, AL
Mable Snell Miller, a lifelong resident of the Echo Community, passed away at her home on Friday morning, March 13, 2026. She was 79.
Born to the late Edward Gibson “Gib” Snell and Ruby Marie Bayne Snell, Mable grew up in the close-knit Echo Community, walking the halls of Echo School before graduating from Carroll High School in Ozark. For thirty years she worked at West Point Stevens in Abbeville, where her steady work ethic and friendly, dependable nature earned the respect of those around her. She found her greatest joy in simple, everyday things—her family, her routines, and the comfort of the community she called home.
Above all, Mable cherished her family. She adored her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to brag about them or spend time in their company. Her cats also brought her quiet companionship and daily delight. She shared a deep and abiding love with her husband, Alvin Dee Miller, who preceded her in death. Their life together was built on mutual affection, hard work, and the gentle pleasures of ordinary days.
She is survived by her son, Rickey Dee Miller (Mary) of Echo; her brother, Larry Snell (Georgia) of Dothan; grandchildren Brittney Dee Miller (Andrew), Gage Dee Miller (Mikayla), Ashley Etheredge, Samantha Hunter, Tesia Hunter, and Kyle Hunter; great-grandchildren Kaden, Jayce, Johnathon, Brandon, Gunter, and Gibson; nieces and nephews Sherri Riley (Tim), Todd Snell (Leanne), and Telisa Glover (Tommy); and other dear relatives including Margie McCall (Don) of the Salem Community and Trish Chancey (Todd) of the Echo Community.
