Mable Lorene Jewell

Mable Lorene Jewell, 92, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born February 17, 1934, in Nashville, TN, to the late William Benson and Lillian Clark Williams.

Mable moved to Owensboro in 1952, met the love of her life, David Jewell, and they married in October of 1952. She was a member of the former Crabtree Baptist Church. Mable enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. She was a cook at the Royce for many years, then worked side by side with David as owner operator in a service station before retiring. She then went back to work as a custodian at the mall before retiring again at the age of 73. From there she loved spending her days working in her beautiful yard.

In addition to her parents, Mable is preceded in death by her husband, David; a granddaughter, Misty Clary; and brothers, Harold, James, Floyd, Jack and John.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cynthia Millay (Steve) of Stanley, Michael Jewell (Sheri) of Jenks, Oklahoma, Ruth Chase (Allen) of Reed, and Sharon Coleman (Derick) of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
