Lynn Nelson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home - Leominster on Mar. 9, 2026.Lynn Nelson of Fitchburg , Massachusetts, was the kind of woman who lit up a room and never backed down from speaking the truth. She had a fierce spirit, a quick wit, and a heart that always stood up for the people she loved. Lynn started bartending at just 18 and spent decades behind the bar, where she made friends out of strangers and never missed a beat. For the last 18 years, she poured that same energy and compassion into her work at DaVita Dialysis, caring deeply for her patients and coworkers alike. Whether she was cracking jokes, offering tough love, or rallying around someone who needed a voice Lynn was always unapologetically herself. She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Jones of Andover, Kansas, and her husband David, and Nicole Galvin of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and her husband Mark Gonynor. Lynn was a proud and loving grandmother to Hailey and Caleb Jones, and Joseph and Briella Gonynor, who were the light of her life.Lynn also leaves behind her four siblings: James McNamara and his wife Susan, Karen McNamara, Patricia Apollo and her husband Richard, and Timothy McNamara and his wife Mary Kate. She was a cherished aunt to nine nieces and nephews, each of whom she adored. Her circle of love extended far beyond family. Lynn shared an unbreakable bond with her two best friends, Tracy and Cathy Boucher, and embraced Shane and Ryan as her "bonus sons," a reflection of her generous heart and open arms. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Geraldine McNamara, whose love and values helped shape the strong, compassionate woman Lynn became. Sadly her brother Brain McNamara passed shortly before Lynn in January 2026.Lynn also shared meaningful chapters of her life with her two former husbands: Edward Galvin, father of her daughters, and Larry Nelson. Both played important roles in her journey, and their shared memories remain part of the story she leaves behind.Lynn loved the beach, kayaking, and playing card games, but her favorite moments were spent with family, especially those campfire nights filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of connection that only she could create. She lived life boldly, loved fiercely, and left behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and unforgettable memories.A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Friday March 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the knights of Columbus, 165 Electric Ave, Fitchburg MA 01420. Her spirit will be honored in the way she would have wanted, surrounded by the people she loved most, sharing stories, and keeping her fire burning bright. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the American Legion two organizations that meant a lot to Lynn.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lynn F.
