Preserve forever →Lynn
April 3, 1944— March 8, 2026
Salt Lake City, UT
Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 57 years of marriage with his wife, Jean. Together they raised two children, Janet (Jared) and Eric (Brooke), and took great pride in their three grandchildren, Tehya (Adam), Loftin (Rachel), and Caden. He cherished their accomplishments and admired their compassion and care for others.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, with the 554th Engineers, and continued his service in the National Guard from 1967 to 1969. Lynn was proud of the opportunity to serve and remained honored by that experience throughout his life.
For 38 years, Lynn worked for Salt Lake County Flood Control as a heavy equipment operator. He truly loved his job, especially during the memorable flood of 1984, when he worked across the valley clearing creeks, reinforcing creek walls, and placing sandbags to help protect the community.
Lynn was known for his warm smile, his quick wit, and his endless supply of jokes and stories. He loved taking his children swimming, camping, and fishing—though they often out-fished him, a fact he accepted with good humor. He enjoyed local baseball games, bowling, hitting balls at Mulligan’s, cheering for the 49ers with Joe Montana as his favorite player, and attending Los Angeles Dodgers games. With his grandchildren, he played “restaurant,” attended karate practices, and proudly watched Tehya earn her black belt at age 12 and become an instructor. He never missed Loftin’s baseball games, always there to cheer him on.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who knew him.
