Lynn Powell-Kieliszewski passed away on March 11, 2026, following a courageous battle with aggressive ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by the family she loved so deeply, held in their arms until her final breath.
Born Lynn Christine Powell on November 23, 1957, in Grand Blanc, Michigan, to the late Loren “Larry” and Donna (Jensen) Powell, she earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For forty years she shared her life with her husband, Phil Kieliszewski. She is survived by their son, Matthew Kieliszewski of Tucson, Arizona, and their daughter, Caitlin “Caitie” Kieliszewski of Alpena.
A vibrant, fiery spirit, Lynn brought love, joy, and humor to everyone around her. She was a passionate advocate for the causes and people she cared about, an avid reader, a gifted writer, and a devoted cat lover. Her openness, empathy, and warmth were unmatched; she was the light, color, and music in her family’s world. She will be held forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
