Lynda Varsallona

Ms. Lynda Johnson Varsallona, age 80 of Lavonia, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Rainey Hospice House.

She was born September 28, 1945 in Royston, Ga., to the late Claude Johnson and Connie Dockery Johnson. Lynda was an LPN and treasured her time taking care of patients over the years at Hart County Hospital and she was a member of Free Chapel of Gainesville, Ga..

Survivors include her two sons: Chris Buffington (Sheri) and Ken Buffington (Katie), all of Lavonia; a daughter: Jennifer Wright (Jimmy) of Greenwood, SC; a brother, Larry Johnson of Hartwell; twelve grandchildren: Caleb Wright, Presley Wright, Savannah Wright, Sam Wright, Abby Wright, Nathan Buffington,  Chase Buffington (Ariane), Chad Buffington, Tori Teasley (Casey), Makenzie Buffington, Gabrielle Buffington, and Ava Buffington; and six great grandchildren: Brylee Buffington, Brensley Buffington, Madden Buffington, Cooper Reynolds, Tate Buffington and Bennett Teasley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Carroll Johnson and a granddaughter, Hannah Buffington.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lynda Varsallona will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Two o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Ken Buffington officiating with burial to follow at Redwine Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. just prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Family members will be at their respective homes.
