Milford, MA

Lynda S. Chace passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born on November 4, 1942, in Dighton, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of the late Warren and Helen (Lawson) Goff.

A proud graduate of Boston University, Lynda devoted more than twenty years of her professional life to children with developmental disabilities as Director of Therapy Services at the Evergreen Center, where she built and supported programs in physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Her deep commitment to helping others was matched by her profound devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Chace and the nurturing mother of sons Andrew Chace and his life companion Diane Smith of Uxbridge, and Richard Chace of Uxbridge. She is also survived by her brother Warren Goff and his wife of Tennessee, her sister Sherry Gallipeau of Somerset, and her grandchildren Ashley Donovan and husband Connor, Tyler Chace and companion Paige Horn, their mother Leighann Chace, and great-grandchildren Cole and Brooke Donovan and Mason and Ryelee Chace. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandson Derek Chace.

Lynda embraced life with energy and curiosity. An avid traveler who visited forty-nine states and Canada, she held special affection for the landscapes of Utah and Alaska. She loved camping, boating, and hiking, and she and her husband Dick were longtime square dancers who formed many lasting friendships through their adventures. At home she found joy in solving crossword puzzles, reading, meticulously keeping travel journals and scrapbooks, and collecting bells and blue glass. A woman of deep faith and generosity, she served as treasurer and choir member at Union Church, offering her time, voice, and resources to her community and to those in need.
