Lyn Ashley Risk
August 24, 1987— March 4, 2026
Hudson, OH
Lyn Ashley Risk, 38, of Hudson, passed away on March 4, 2026.
A lifelong Hudson resident, Lyn graduated from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in 2006 and earned a degree in Business from Geneva College in Pennsylvania. Her passion for aviation led her to a career as an airline dispatcher, where she met her husband, Russell, a pilot. Together they created a home filled with warmth and laughter. Lyn had a remarkable green thumb and took pleasure in growing fruits and vegetables, which she generously shared with neighbors and friends.
After the birth of their children, Elijah and Hannah, Lyn devoted herself to nurturing them. She found deep joy in making memories with her family and expressed her creativity by planning and documenting their adventures through photographs and videos. She loved her family with a fierce and wholehearted devotion.
Beneath her quiet exterior was a tender heart and an unbreakable spirit. A loyal friend to many, Lyn was quick to encourage others and had a gift for bringing out the best in those around her. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and her thoughtful, steady presence.
A follower of Christ who attended Parkside Kent, Lyn’s faith deepened in recent years. She remained deeply attuned to spiritual things, noticing God’s goodness and provision in life’s small details. Even through suffering, she stayed faithful and confident in His goodness. In their profound grief, her family and friends find comfort knowing her story does not end here.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; her children, Elijah and Hannah; her parents, Ronald and Doris Barnhouse; and her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Rachel Barnhouse.
