Lydia Ozuna, 86, of Pyote, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Harkey Funeral Home with Larry Jasso of Monahans Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Lydia was born on April 18, 1939, in Pecos, Texas, to Frank Gonzalez and Luisa Sanchez. She later married the love of her life, Joe Ozuna, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lydia dedicated many years of service working in food service for the West Texas State School, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature.
Lydia had a creative spirit and enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She loved sewing, quilting, embroidery, painting, and ceramics, and she especially enjoyed cooking for family, friends, and even those she had just met. Her kitchen was often a gathering place filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her wonderful home-cooked meals. Lydia had a generous heart and found great joy in sharing her talents and love with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Gonzalez and Luisa Sanchez; her beloved husband, Joe Ozuna; her brother, Gilbert Gonzales; and her great-granddaughter, Bella Rose Jaquez.
Lydia is survived by her loving family, including her son of Pyote, Texas; her daughter of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers and two sisters of California; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Lydia will be remembered for her kind heart, creativity, and the love she shared through her cooking, crafts, and devotion to her family.
