Luz "Lucy" Maria Medina

Luz Maria (Ramos) Medina, lovingly known as “Lucy” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 79 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Born on June 1, 1946, in Guanica, Puerto Rico, to the late Otilio Ramos and Benita (Melendez) Ramos, Lucy grew from humble beginnings into a woman whose life was defined by quiet devotion to her family, steadfast faith, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she met. For many years she worked as a secretary in various law offices, where her diligence, professionalism, and kind demeanor earned her the trust and affection of colleagues and friends alike.

On December 11, 1986, she married the love of her life, Eliezer Medina. Together they shared 39 years of marriage rooted in love, faith, and family. A devoted member of Puerta De Salvacion Church in LaPorte for more than a decade, Lucy found deep joy in her church community. Those who knew her described her as considerate and sensible, a woman who faced life’s challenges with compassion, patience, and great care. Above all, she was remembered for her loving, kind, and sweet spirit that warmly embraced both her family and her church family.

Lucy is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Eliezer Medina, Sr.; her children, Eliezer Medina, Jr. (Christine), Daniel Medina (Evelyn), Stephen Medina (Dominique), Jonathan Guitierrez (Biana), and Jaysalee Medina (Wilbur); and 12 cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by 12 siblings, many loving nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends and church family who will miss her deeply. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love for her family remain a treasured gift in the hearts of all who knew her.
