Lurlene was employed with Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and later became a Home Health Nurse before retiring.In March 1983, Lurlene met Reverend Algie Coleman and they were married on September 10, 1983. She joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Coleman was serving as Pastor. She served as First Lady, Choir Director and in many other capacities in the church.Lurlene Harriet Jones Coleman departed this life on March 7, 2026.Lurlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Louise Small and James Brown, Sr., her husband, Reverend Algie Coleman and sisters, Debra Small and Dawn Brown.She leaves to cherish her memories…her sisters, Vivian Rivers, Isaline Boston, Sharon Small, Yolanda Small, Twanda Small and Enoree Cummings; brothers, Eddie Jones, Tukey Brown, James Tokley (JoAnn) and Shawn Brown; stepdaughters, Stephanie Coleman, Algina Coleman and Melissa Coleman; stepson, Algie Coleman, and a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.Graveside Service, Thursday, March 19, 2026, 1:00 P.M. at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park Cemetery, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FloridaEntrusted Care To Smith Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services - 727-442-2388Send flowers to the service of Lurlean ColemanTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
