November 10, 1934— March 5, 2026
Cheney, WA
Lulu Marie Flowerdew (Day), 91, of Cheney, Washington, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Cheney Care Center. Born on November 10, 1934, in South Dakota to Floyd Presley and Mary Lavina Day, she moved with her family to Oregon at a young age. She was the sister of Lila Plummer, Merle Day, Leslie Day, and Melvin Day.
Lulu met her husband, Marvin, in Dallas, Oregon, and they married on August 20, 1954. Together they built a life first in the Eugene, Oregon area, where Marvin worked as an auto mechanic and later as a teacher. They welcomed their daughter, Sharon, and son, David, and were active in their church community. In 1988, they moved to Calais, Maine, where they pastored St. Croix Valley Assembly of God for 26 years before settling in Cheney, Washington in 2014.
Quiet and soft-spoken, Lulu’s life was anchored by her deep faith in God and her profound love for her family. A woman of constant prayer, she lived with quiet trust and dependence on God. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Family members fondly remember her delicious pies baked in abundance for holiday gatherings and the daily walks she and Marvin shared for many years, a gentle expression of their enduring closeness and care for one another.
Lulu was preceded in death by her parents and all four of her siblings. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Marvin Flowerdew; her daughter, Sharon Lowry (Burton); her son, David (Trish); grandchildren Anna Becker, Jonathan Lowry, Michelle Joy, Michael Lowry, and Natalie Flowerdew; and six great-grandchildren.
