Riddick(78) was born to Isaac James Sr & Ida Mae Pryor in Holly Springs, MS on January 1, 1948. Lula attended elementary school at Galena Elementary School in Chulahoma, MS. She later graduated from Byhalia High School.Ms. Lula accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Peel Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved to Aurora, IL in 1969 where she became a member of Gayles Memorial Baptist Church. Ms. Lula held several jobs in her lifetime. She retired in 2010 from Caterpillar.Ms. Lula B. Riddick leaves to cherish her legacy; her son Calvine L Dean of Maryville, TN. 4 sisters Dianne (Craig Jr) Kendall of Aurora, IL Jennie Howell of Chicago, IL, Jerlene Pryor of Holly Springs, MS, Annie James of Waterford, MS, and 5 brothers Melvin (Quennie) Turner-James of Milwaukee, IL, Oscar Lee (Valine) James of Holly Springs, MS, Eddie Hue James of Memphis TN, Robert (Tina) James and Anthony James both of Aurora, IL.She also leaves 10 grandkids; LaPorshea Malone, Mariah West, Keyantae Rodgers, Breianna Jones, LaDeja (Louis) Dean, Kiyanna Rodgers-Dean, Trintiy Dean, Zzania Dawkins, Nevaeh Dean & Nahayla Dean. She also leaves 2 great grandkids & a host of nieces & nephews.Ms. Lula also leaves 2 special nieces Candice & Jerlisa.She is proceeded in death by her son Robert "Base" Dean, her sister Mae Lois Stewart & Isaac James Jr along with both her mother and father.Visitation will take place from 4pm-6pm on Friday March 13, 2026, at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 North Memphis Street Holly Springs, MS.Funeral services & interment will take place at Mt. Peel Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Springs, MS on March 14, 2026 at 11am.
