Santa Ana, CA
Luisa Gil, affectionately known as “La Bella,” passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on March 4, 2026, in Santa Ana, California. Born on March 15, 1974, in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico, she lived a life defined by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones and community.
From an early age, Luisa demonstrated a strong work ethic and a nurturing spirit. She began her career caring for children, where her protective and loving nature touched many young lives. She later worked in a warehouse before discovering her true vocation as an Orthodontic Technician, a profession she practiced with devotion for 25 years. In every role, she brought excellence, a deep desire to serve, and tireless effort.
Luisa was known for her kindness, warmth, and generous heart. She delighted in preparing meals for others and sharing them freely, especially with her siblings. Her firm character stemmed from profound love and responsibility toward her family. She shared a particularly tender bond with her father, Isidoro Tochihuitl Jiménez, whom she lovingly called “her baby.” Every weekend she made it a cherished tradition to take him to church and then out for a meal, ensuring he always felt loved and cared for. She was also deeply appreciated by her in-laws for the devoted care and companionship she gave her husband, Aldo.
Her faith was central to her life. For many years she served enthusiastically with Jóvenes para Cristo at Santa Ana Catholic Church, coordinating events and offering pastoral support through prayer and presence. Though she had no children of her own, Luisa poured her affection into her nieces and nephews. She treasured simple joys with them—buying ice cream, sharing laughter, and creating happy memories. One beloved story tells of her surprising the family with train tickets to downtown Los Angeles after learning her nephew loved trains, revealing once again her thoughtful and generous nature.
Luisa is survived by her beloved husband, Aldo Gil; her sisters Rita Tochihuitl Tepox, María de los Ángeles Tochihuitl-Huitzil, and Claudia Huitzil; her father Isidoro Tochihuitl Jiménez; and her brother Guillermo Tochihuitl Tepox. She is reunited with her sister Hilaria Tochihuitl Tepox, her mother Claudia Tepox Tepo, and her brother Fernando Tochihuitl Tepox. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted sister, loyal friend, and faithful servant whose warmth and strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
