Luigi "Louis" Mazzella

1938 — 2026

Marlboro, NY

Louis Mazzella, a man who brought a smile to everyone he met and was truly the life of the party, entered into eternal rest on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manhattan on September 13, 1938, to the late Frank and Brigida Mazzella, he moved as a child with his family to Marlboro, New York, where he was raised. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Louis spent the majority of his career in the trucking industry, working in the offices of several companies before retiring as a member of the Teamsters.

In August of 1967, he married his beloved wife, Patricia. Together they built a life centered on family and joy. Louis lived life to the fullest, possessing a rare gift for connecting with people. His warmth and legendary sense of humor left a lasting impression wherever he went.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; his children, Lisa Mazzella (Judi), Michael Mazzella (Tracy), and Nicole Nelson (Tommie); and his cherished grandchildren, Bryanna Mazzella, Gabrielle Nelson, and Brittney Schember. He also leaves behind his sisters, Marie Buffone, Ann Mills (John), Louise Smith (Art), and Frances Cerami, as well as his brother, Leo Mazzella (Donna). Louis’s legacy is one of laughter and kindness, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
