Lucretta McKay "Keeta" Bartee

Lucretta “Keeta” McKay Bartee, 70, of LaGrange, Georgia, was born on March 18, 1955, and passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026.

Keeta graduated from Lanette High School and was a longtime member of Cedarcrest Community Church, where she lived out a strong and steady faith. She faced many challenges in life yet met them all with perseverance and grace. Above all, she devoted herself completely to her family, finding her deepest peace in loving and providing for them.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Janet) Bartee Sr., Brandy Bartee-Gray, and Mandy DuBose; her brother, Herbert A. McKay Sr.; ten grandchildren, Kaitlin Bartee, Kortney (Brian) Nappi, Richard (Michelle) Bartee Jr., Ronnie (Chass) Bartee, Dylan Gray, Jada Gray, Alana Bartee-Gray, Christian (Destiny) Bartee-Wilson, Ryan Wilson, and Christina DuBose; six great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces, nephews, and extended family. Keeta was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. McKay Sr. and Evelyn S. McKay; her husband, Ronald L. Bartee; her brothers, Robert E. McKay Sr. and David M. McKay Sr.; and her sister, Sequita “Sissy” Gordy.

Those who knew her will remember her generous heart, her beautiful poetry, the gifts she crocheted for family and friends, and the joy she found scuba diving in the Pacific Ocean. She leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength and unwavering love as a mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
