She transitioned peacefully, in her home in Pflugerville, TX surrounded by her children and grandchildren on March 3, 2026. Lucy was born on September 2, 1946, in Austin, TX. She went on to raise her children in Austin and the surrounding areas.In her younger years, Lucy attended beauty college in Austin and eventually opened a salon in downtown Austin. She had the honor of providing services to several high-profile clients, such as Governor Ann Richards. With her passion being in the beauty industry, she went on to become a cosmetology teacher and taught the art in schools across Texas. When she retired, she was the Director of Central Texas Beauty College and had proudly held that role for twenty years. She mentored many of her students during her career, helping them to become successful stylists, instructors and business owners in the industry. She was known for her big smile, witty personality and of course, her glamorous demeanor. Lucy enjoyed travelling with her husband, Nick, caring for her dogs over the years and spending time with her family. She lived her life with an openness for adventure and a passion for excitement. She was often known to sing and dance alongside her daughters and granddaughters. In her final years, she enjoyed sitting outside her home with her neighbors and her loyal dog, Brian.Lucy moved to Taylor, TX in the nineties and became a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a member of the choir and a proud Guadalupana until she relocated to Georgetown, TX to be near her children and grandchildren.Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Ramirez Torres and Guadalupe Gomez Torres, husband, Nicholas Solis; Granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Valadez and all but one of her siblings. She is survived by her four children, Ray Anthony Valadez of Georgetown, TX; Geneva Villarreal (husband, Robert) of Leander, TX; Melissa Minjarez of Pflugerville, TX and Nancy Valadez of Austin, TX. She has nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild with another on the way.A viewing and recitation of the rosary will be held at Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX and a Mass at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Pflugerville, TX. After the services the family will gather at a location to be determined for a meal and celebration of life.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
