Born on September 23, 1947, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Lucia was a beacon of love and generosity throughout her 78 years.The daughter of Benilde M. (Moniz) DeAndrade of East Providence and the late Jose M. DeAndrade, Lucia, was a cherished member of a loving family.She was the wife of the late Luis M. Costa. They were married for over 47 years. She was a devoted mother to her children, Elizabeth Crews of Seekonk MA., Danny Costa and his wife Kristin of Somerset, Her siblings, Natalia Sardiello, Connie Cordeiro and her husband John, Maria Jose DeAndrade and Billy, all of East Providence, and the late Jose M. DeAndrade, will remember her as a kind and caring sister. Lucia's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Shelby Grilo( Konrad), Jackson Costa, Sydney Grilo (Dylan), Shaylyn Grilo (Moses). She also embraced the role of great-grandmother to Jeramyah with immense pride and joy. Lucia's extended family of nieces and nephews will also hold dear the memory of her generous spirit. Also survived by her dog Cooper who she loved so dearly.For over 42 years, Lucia was a proud resident of Seekonk, having moved from Providence. Her dedication to her work was evident in her over 30 years of service as a packer at Davol Rubber Company, where she was a valued employee and a friendly face to all.Lucia was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace. She was a devoted worshiper of Senhor Santo Cristo, she often referred to him as her best friend. She found great pleasure in life's simple joys, such as solving puzzles and traveling to new and familiar places. Lucia's giving nature was boundless, and she was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Her love for her dog was a reflection of her caring heart, and the time she spent with her family was cherished above all else.Those who knew Lucia would describe her as loving, generous, and selfless. She had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel valued and loved. Her warm presence and the selfless acts of kindness she bestowed upon others will be profoundly missed.Lucia's legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless generosity. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we say farewell to Lucia DeAndrade Costa, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so freely to all. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 13,2026 at 10:00am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail , East Providence, RI.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
