Loyola Gonzalez ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Alternative Choice Funeral & Cremation - Farmington on Mar. 16, 2026.Loyola Euphemia Gonzalez, age 79, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. She was born on January 13, 1947, in Blanco, New Mexico.Loyola spent much of her childhood growing up in Los Angeles, California, where she attended elementary school and later graduated from Bishop Connelly Memorial Catholic High School. She continued her education at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned her degree and went on to become an elementary school teacher. Loyola had a deep love for children and the elderly and dedicated much of her life to caring for and helping others. She was known for being intelligent, kind-hearted, polite, and respectful. Loyola loved the outdoors and found joy in the mountains, hiking, the wilderness, nature, camping, and traveling. She enjoyed playing volleyball, watching movies, dancing, and listening to music. Some of her favorite music included oldies, especially artists like The Rascals and Fats Domino. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Scotty. One of the things her family will miss most about Loyola was her honesty. She always spoke the truth about life and how she felt-whether easy or difficult to hear-but always with the intention of helping others. Her generous heart was evident in the way she gave to those in need. She would give her last dollar to someone who needed help, reflecting the values she was raised with in her Catholic faith.Loyola was a devoted supporter of churches, donation centers, children's causes, and homeless organizations. Helping others was simply who she was.She is survived by her son, Christopher Gonzalez; her four grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Mariah, and Angelo; and her last surviving sibling, Telly Vallejos. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gonzalez; her parents, Solomon and Clotilde Vallejos; her brothers David, Joe, Victor, and Mariano; her sisters Angelina "Angie" and Sotera "Terry"; her great-niece, Kaytie Florez; and numerous other beloved family members.Loyola will be deeply missed by all the family and friends who knew and loved her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in believing she is now dancing in heaven with God and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.She will always be loved, remembered, and missed forever.God bless.Celebration of Life for Loyola will be determined and announced at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
