Loyal Dwight Patrom, age 78, of Austin, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on March 18, 1947, in Beebe to Clarence Pate Patrom and Maggie Patrom, Dwight grew up with deep roots in the community he would later help strengthen. He attended Oak Church of Christ in El Paso and dedicated thirty-nine years to the Missouri Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad while also maintaining a cattle farm for many years.
A devoted husband, son, father, Gege, and Too-Da, Dwight served on the El Paso Parks & Playground Board and the Grissard Cemetery Board. He was among the men who helped build the El Paso Community Center and ballparks, reflecting his lifelong love for baseball both as a player and a coach. His quiet leadership and steady presence left a lasting mark on the places and people he cared for.
Dwight is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Debbie; daughter Sherri; son Kevin (Cindy); grandchildren Tayler (Sarah) Patrom, Kynlee Patrom, Lacey (Austin) Barclay, Whitney (Chaz) Taylor, and Ryan (Hannah) Lovelis; seven great-grandchildren, Piper, Brody, Nash, Briggs, Crew, Arden, and Palmer; and three brothers, Ronnie (Janie), Harold (Sue), and Danny (Kay). He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maggie Patrom, four brothers, and four sisters.
