Martin on March 11, 2026, at the Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan.Lowell was born on May 13, 1939, in Banner, Arkansas, to his late parents, Lonie and Audrey Martin. A patriot and veteran, Lowell served four years in the United States Army, specialized in communications and stationed at the Panama Canal and in Chile.Following his military service, Lowell completed a plumbing apprenticeship and earned his license as a Master Plumber, eventually establishing his own business, Martin Plumbing. He later joined General Motors as a Master Pipefitter, retiring after 30 years with an impeccable work record. In retirement, Lowell and his wife, Carolyn, enjoyed traveling across America, including a memorable trip through Alaska.Lowell was a multifaceted master of all trades who sought truth and perfection in every endeavor. He found great joy in restoring guitars, creating fine wood furniture, and finding value in items that could be repurposed. He took particular pride in fully restoring a 1951 Chevrolet 3100 truck, which is currently displayed at the Silo Auto Club & Museum in Indianapolis.A kind and gentle man, Lowell was devoted to the Lord and his family. He appreciated the beauty of nature and sunsets and was always eager to share his vast knowledge and skills with his children and grandchildren and all those willing to receive it. He was a hardworking, loving provider who maintained his joyful spirit and dedication to his family until the very end.In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his brothers, Onus, Lyndle, Vernon, and Weldon, and his sisters, Evelyn Nail, Edna Rambo, and Lee Crownover.Lowell is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Martin; his sister, Ann Potter; and his four children: Janice (Richard) Mattucci, Scott (Kathleen) Martin, Cynthia Schneider, and John (Ashley) Martin. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Dryer Funeral Home, 101 First Street, Holly, MI. Viewing will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM. A military memorial service will take place from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI.
