Louise "Spielman" Russell

Louise (Spielman) Russell, 72, of Thomaston, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Born on August 6, 1953, in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edith (Howell) Spielman. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald “Donni” Russell.

Before retiring, Louise worked as a graphic designer. She possessed a deep love for the arts and was a prolific painter. An avid gardener, she also cherished the ocean and frequently visited her brother at the Cape. She enjoyed lively games of LRC with a close circle of friends at the American Legion hall in Terryville. Above all, Louise treasured her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with them, especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Rosenberg and her husband Warren of New York; her siblings, Mark Spielman and his wife Linda, Marlene Spielman, David Spielman and his wife Yanaris, and Helena (Spielman) Espinosa and her husband Arnold; her beloved granddaughters, Natasha and Brittany; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
