Louise Capparelli Graffenberger

Louise Capparelli Graffenberger, 92, a lifelong resident of Shoshone County, Idaho, passed away peacefully at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg on March 9, 2026. Born on January 21, 1934, in Terror Gulch outside of Osburn, Louise was known for her strong independence and love of the outdoors. She married Paul Graffenberger on July 8, 1950, and together they raised two children, Paula (Floyd) Olson of Thompson Falls and Lou Smith of Wallace.

Louise found joy in fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, and gardening. She also bowled on a league and played baseball. She was deeply grateful for her kind next-door neighbors, Eugene Lyon and Sue Halley, who offered her friendship and generous help over the years. She is survived by her daughter Paula, her son Lou, her granddaughter Kristi (Joe) Lutes of Rathdrum, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, a grandson Andy Philpot, one sister, and all of her brothers.
