January 26, 1940— March 9, 2026
Scottsdale, AZ
Louise Ann Hattrup was born on January 26, 1940, in New York, and passed away on March 9, 2026. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Joe Hattrup, with whom she shared a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Louise was the proud mother of two daughters, Lora Meadows (Duane) and Cynthia Slotta (Tim), who were the joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. She was also dearly loved by Joe’s family, her many friends, and her sister Judy of New York; her sister Teri preceded her in death.
A remarkable and self-made woman, Louise raised her daughters as a single mother while building a successful career as a Senior Benefits Analyst at Mercer, where she worked for nearly 25 years. Despite often holding two jobs, she always made time for her girls, coaching softball, supporting Bluebird and Camp Fire activities, and sewing their clothes with care and creativity. She possessed a radiant smile, quick wit, and gracious charm. A compassionate listener, she offered thoughtful advice and made everyone around her feel valued.
Louise embraced life fully, traveling the world with Joe, volunteering for countless events, riding her horse Kit Kat, caring for dogs, golfing, rafting, hiking with her daughters, and cheering on her favorite football and basketball teams. An exceptional cook and baker, she passed that gift on to her daughters. She lived with energy, purpose, and joy, and those who loved her will carry her in their hearts always.
