Louis Watembach ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Silha Funeral Homes - Beach on Mar. 9, 2026.Louis Watembach, 70, of Wibaux, Montana, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wibaux, Montana.Louis was born on January 3, 1956, in Dickinson, ND, the youngest of five children of Frank and Flora (Sinz) Watembach. He was raised on the family farm outside of Wibaux, where he attended South Center country school and graduated from Wibaux High School in 1974.Following graduation, Louis worked alongside his father and brothers for a short time in the family farming and ranching operation. He then spent many years working as a long-haul truck driver, pulling a flatbed across the country. Louis received a "500,000 Accident-Free Miles with The Quality Team" award in 1995. After he retired, he returned to helping his brothers with farming and ranching.Louis was known as a quiet man who valued a simple life and the labor of caring for the land and livestock. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends, often stopping by the Wibaux Co-Op to catch up and share a story or two.Louis is survived by his brothers, Robert Watembach of Lynnwood, Washington; Ron Watembach of Beach; Don Watembach of Wibaux; his nephew, Todd Kramer (Twylla) and great nephew, Thomas of Mandan; and his niece, Kim Kramer of Bismarck, ND. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra Kramer; and an infant nephew, Dale Kramer.Silha Funeral Home of Beach, North Dakota, has been entrusted with arrangements.
