Louis "Francis" Kotara

Louis “Francis” Kotara of Adkins, Texas, passed away at home on March 8, 2026, at the age of 72 after a nine-month battle with multiple medical issues. Born on July 17, 1953, in Floresville, Texas, he was the second of eight children born to Leonard and Emma Rapstine Kotara.

Francis is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Walter, his sister-in-law Laurie Kotara, his granddaughter Jordan Elizabeth Kotara, and his grandson Ayden Joseph Kotara. He is survived by his wife of many years, Pam Liska Kotara; their children and spouses, Kristen Kotara Potter and husband Michael, and Duane Kotara and wife Brittni; his cherished grandchildren Whitten, Kyrie, and Madyson Potter, Genavie Dishner-Kotara, and Aria, Avari, and Gwyneth Kotara; his siblings and their spouses, Mary (Greg) Wiatrek, Sharalyn (Cliff) Shelton, Donnie Kotara, Randy Kotara, Norleen Newberry, and Sheldon (Angela) Kotara; his sister-in-law Gloria Kotara; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those who knew Francis will remember a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who remained deeply connected to his large, loving family throughout his life. His family has requested that memorials in his honor be directed to Masses or to the charity of one’s choice.
