Truty, 88, a devoted husband, father, and craftsman, passed away peacefully into the presence of our Lord.Lou treasured his family and his 60-year marriage to his beloved wife, Judy Truty (née Pankratz), who preceded him in death in 2021. A devout Catholic, Lou was dedicated to prayer and service. He spent many hours as a rosary-maker and prayer-warrior, supporting others through his faith and devotion to Mary, the Blessed Virgin. His spirituality was not only personal but practical - lived through acts of kindness, humility, and generosity.Lou and Judy built a life rooted in faith, integrating into communities in Chicago, and suburban Villa Park, Illinois, in Tucson, Arizona, Naperville, Illinois, and finally in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following Judy's passing, Lou lived in Goodyear, Arizona, before finally moving to Aubrey, Texas, to be with his children.Lou was born and raised in Chicago, the oldest of six children, with five sisters. A man of quiet strength and reliability, he served his country as a U.S. Army Sergeant, then spent his professional career as a field engineer for IBM. Lou also served as a volunteer fireman in Villa Park, where he forged lifelong friendships. In Tucson, he expanded his commitment to public safety as a volunteer and leader for the Pima County Sheriff's Auxiliary.He is survived by his five children: Chris Truty (Heidi), Mark Truty (Jean), Greg Truty (Kathy), Michael Truty (Eileen), and Laura Gallagher (James), and two sisters: Julianne Poulos, and Bernadette Bylina. He also leaves behind a legacy of 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who will remember him for his enduring, patient presence in their lives.A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 13th, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, TX, 75033.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local first-responder organization, a Catholic charity of your choice, or Legacy at Willow Bend in Lou's honor.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
